What to Wear?

Some helpful styling tips, as well as things to avoid.

Styling Tips

Family Colour Palette: Choose 2-3 colours in a colour palette and sprinkle in some neutrals to avoid matching too much.

Accessories/Layers: Jewelry, sweaters, cardigans, vests, knee highs. scarfs, bows, fun shoes can help coordinate a specific colour across multiple people.

Jeans: If Blue isn’t one of your colours in your palette then look to other pant styles other than jeans. If you are going for an all neutral look, or a lot of earth tones, use complimentary coloured chinos such as olive, burgundy, khaki, grey, etc.

Patterns: It’s ok to mix patterns if they are in the same colour palette. Daughter in florals, and dad in a striped dress shirt under his sweater.

Things to Avoid

Don’t overly match: Coordinate instead. Choosing 3 colours instead of 2 will allow you to tie in more variety.

Bright Neon Colours: Neon colours can be distracting and cause colour casts on your skin.

Large Logos or Loud Patterns: They are too distracting and take away from the main focus.

Everyone in Jeans: Change it up with different colours or styles of pants (or skirts/dresses)

Athletic Tennis Shoes: If your family is wearing Athletic leisure then go for it. But, if not dress the part from head to toe. If you have matching outfits but a child is wearing shoes with bright neon laces, it can throw off the entire look. Instead, choose converse, loafers, boots, dress shoes, or sandals.
